Exactly one week after making my front yard Harvestly cute.... I wake up to snow!! Not just a skiff, but a good 3 inches!!
Welcome to Eastern Idaho, i guess!
They've been forecasting it for a few weeks but it never came so I wasn't worried... I mean it's only October!
My poor straw and pumpkins! Luckily i've been taking my 'mumpkin' in the house at night so it is ok!

Day 520- Oh Hay!!
Well technically it's straw... But if you know me at all you know "oh hey" is what I say!
So I decided to make our curb appeal a little more appealing?
I started by raking the leaves and pulling weeds in our flower bed by our front door. Then I bought a full size bail of straw! Go big or go home, right? It was 5 bucks at a local flower nursery, at Walmart and Joann's they were a quarter of the size and double or triple the cost.
Let me just suggest, if you do get a bail of straw... Pick it up in a Pick Up!
Not your car... My car now smells like a barn! Yuck!
Anyway, lesson learned. Earlier this week Kyle brought me home some pretty fall mums, the second i saw them i knew i wanted to make a "mumkin" pumpkin! (I saw the idea in pinterest a few months ago then got reminded by my aunt the day before he got them) So i naturally bought more pumpkins :)
Also, Joann's is having a huge sale and that is where I got the welcome sign for 60% off!
Whipped it all up this afternoon :)
Also, a BIG Thank you to my brother in-law, Todd, for taking time away from his studying to help me get the straw out of my trunk! I was to excited to wait for Kyle to get home from work!
HAPPY HARVEST FROM MY HOME TO YOURS!

Day 515- Toffee Apple Pie Cookies!
THESE ARE THE BEST COOKIES!!!
But seriously, I have made them twice in the last 4 days.
Small bits of apple and a slight graham cracker taste with a sweet toffee crunch!
They are your perfect holiday cookie!

Ingredients
1/2 c. butter
1/2 c. brown sugar
1/4 c. sugar
1 egg
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. baking powder
1 1/3 c. flour
1/2 c. graham cracker crumbs
1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
1/2 c. finely chopped apple
1/2 c. toffee baking bits
1/4 c. white chocolate chips
1/2 tsp. shortening
Instructions
In a mixing bowl, cream the sugars and butter until
fluffy. Add egg and vanilla. In a bowl, combine flour, crumbs, baking powder,
salt, and spices. Add to the butter mixture and mix until just combined. Stir in
the apple and toffee bits by hand.
Roll dough into 1 inch balls and place about 2 inches
apart on a baking sheet. Bake at 350* for 10-12 minutes. Cool on pan for 2-3
minutes and remove to wire rack to cool completely.
In a microwave safe bowl, combine the white chips and
shortening. Heat for 20 seconds. Stir and repeat until melted and creamy. Spoon
into a plastic bag and cut the tip off. Drizzle over melted cookies. Store in an
air tight container. Make 24 cookies.
ENJOY! :)
I originally found the recipe on a blog that had 50 Pumpkin/ Apple Recipes!
(Thanks pinterest)
So many of them looked delish!

Day 511- Fall Pictures!
Here are some more pictures we took!
I am sure people were laughing at us....
we were in a park that goes along the river down town,
many people offered to take our picture for us, but we liked the adventure of the tripod :)
Out of the bunch we took...here are my two favorites!
We are taking pose suggestions if you have any...
that was seriously the hardest part, trying to get in a good possition before the picture took.

Day 510- Fall is Here!
Its official,
I have had to turn my car heater on in the mornings for over a week and a half...
Fall has finally hit Idaho!
(it is not winter until you have to preheat and scrape snow off your car)

As i turned onto 17th Street the other day a bunch of beautiful yellow leaves blew off a tree and across the road. I quickly had 3 thoughts....
1. I should get a Carmel apple cider!
2. I need a pumpkin outside my front door.
3. I really really want to take some fall pictures!
Well, 3 days later and I have done 2 out of the three thoughts....
Yesterday we took some fall pictures!
And today I bought some cute little pumpkins!
Now all i need is my cider!

Day 506- eat, sleep, work
Our New Schedule
or at least it seems
Wake up before the sun.
Eat.
Go to work.
Eat.
Work until the sun does down.
Come home from work.
Eat.
Go to sleep and do it all over again tomorrow...
I bet you are jealous huh?
Kyle is driving truck for Spud Harvest, the hours are absolutely crazy!
We hardly see each other during the week.
He came out the the bathroom the other day and i hardly recognized him....
well, that might of been because he shaved a mow-hawk.
(it didn't last long)
Tuesday he left for work at 6am i left at 6:10. I got home at 5:30pm Kyle got home at 11:20pm
Wednesday i went to work at 5:30am and he got home at 11:30
BUT...
On Thursday he didn't have to go to work until 11am because apparently you cant dig spuds when it is freezing out!
AND it was my day off so we actually got to see each other for more than 10-15 min.
We went on a breakfast date!
Then back to work he went until....12:30am!

Kyle has been working long hours for the last few months, 7am- 6pm. BUT now he is working really loonnng hours... good thing he has a personal secretary to help finish and turn in this homework :)
At work this week i have been working on the ribbon side, i work fabric 3 days and ribbon 2 usually. But not for the last week, its been all ribbon. There was a HUGE sale and lots of online orders so that is also why i have been going into work so early.
Don't get me wrong, we are very thankful for our jobs and for the work we have, we just miss spending more awake time together BUT now we cherish every minute we do get to see each other!
and heck we have eternity, right ;-)

OH, i almost forgot, the best part about Kyle working Spud Harvest....
FREE GINORMOUS POTATOES!!
seriously huge....like bigger than my foot!

Day 504- EEK It is already October!
Halloween is just around the corner....
So i decided to get a early start on some fun decorations.
Used a Pool noodle for the wreath ($6 cheaper than a premade one at the craft store)
I cut the noodle to side then duct taped it in place.
Cut green fabric into 3inch by 44 inch strips and wrapped around the wreath.
Gluing as i went.
I found a spider web place mat at Target and put it behind the wreath
Painted the EEK and sprayed it with glitter spray
THE FINISHED PRODUCT!
Now all i need is to find a spider to live in the web :)
I love decorating for holidays... my problem in the past is they sneak up on me so quick that i usually don't make anything until the week of the holiday, then i don't get to fully enjoy it!
I was so proud of myself for actually doing a holiday project i will get to enjoy for a whole month!
AND
Of course i didn't craft by myself, My Sister inlaw Cat made a wreath too.
She cut strips of fabric and tied them around her noodle and added a witch hat for fun!
Cat also taught me how to make spider webs out of yarn....so here is my window all spider webbed out!
It is pretty cool to see from the outside
(that is the inside view though)
HAPPY OCTOBER EVERYONE!!
